POOL YEAR RESOLUTIONS

The beginning of a new year is always a time of promises and resolutions. Whether an intention to work out more, eat healthier, or spend more time outside, the new year is a great time to reflect on the past and make grand plans for the future. This year, why not throw some pool resolutions into the mix to help make 2017 the best pool year of your life.

Resolution #1 – A Scrub a Day Keeps the Algae Away

Let’s make 2017 the year that algae never makes a visit to your pool by taking the time to scrub the walls for a few minutes every day. Think about your pool walls like a big mouthful of pearly whites. You wouldn’t even consider going a day without brushing those teeth at least twice so why would you let the pool go without it either? Regularly brushing your pool walls with a stiff brush make it very difficult for algae to take hold and root into the pool walls. It is also a great way to get outside on a daily basis and enjoy the outdoors along with a little bit if physical effort.

Resolution #2 – Finally Learn Your Pool’s Language

If you have always been that person that just trusts the kid working at the local pool store, or worst, that person that lets your pool go on auto pilot all year with minimal oversight, make the change this year and finally learn how to test and analyze your own pool water. There are some really simple and effective testing kits on the market, a few of which we sell on our online store, and there are a ton of helpful videos out there that can help walk you through the very simple step-by-step process.

Resolution #3 – Embrace Technology with Energy Efficient Upgrades

Whether it’s upgrading to LED lights or swapping out that old high horsepower pump for a smaller more efficient option, there are a number of new technology options available that can help your achieve your personal conservation goals that will benefit the environment and your pocket book.

This list could go on and on but as is the case with any New Year’s resolution, it is important that you set small and incremental goals that you know you will stick to and achieve. Whatever pool year resolutions you might consider for 2017, just make sure they will all contribute to helping you enjoy your pool even more than you did last year.
